The Versatile Island

Travelling in Great Britain can never be dull. The island has so many different things to offer. From the dormant seaside resorts in the south to the Scottish Highlands in the north. In between the poetic beauty of the Lake District never loses its lure. But it is Scotland that has me enthralled. The breathtaking sceneries of the west coast in general and the Hebridean islands in particular.

In 1995 I made a trip to Scotland with two friends. We visited the Isle of Skye and were mesmerized by the foreboding and barren landscape. To enjoy some views from the Isle of Skye, click here.

The following year my girlfriend and I went to the gem of the Inner Hebrides, Islay. You do not have to be a whisky enthusiast to go there, but if you are it will most certainly enrichen the experience. The island houses a handful classic distilleries. We had a superb time, and proof of this can be found in these images.

In 1997 we ventured into the deep forests and astounding beaches of Wales. Click here.

1998 was the year of the Orkney Isles. Unforgettable. Look
