Force Majeure is French for "Superior Force".
In politics this means that a government ends a conflict by sending
in troops,
instead of seeking a peaceful solution. It could also mean a catastrophic,
unexpected circumstance which make it impossible to accomplish an agreement
and for which the party that is bound to the treaty therefore not can
be blamed (for example a war).
