Jakob Winnberg holds a PhD in English from Gothenburg University (2001). He has lectured in several colleges and universities throughout Sweden. He has also been awarded research fellowships from the Swedish Research Council, and, recently, from the University of Montpellier III, France. His teaching and research has focused on modernist and postmodernist literature, and questions of the aesthetics, ethics and politics of affect. More recently awakened interests include narrative as presentation (rather than representation) in conjunction  with the role of the reader, and the potentials of Adorno's notion of "negative aesthetics".

Currently residing in Växjö, Sweden, he is also an audio-visual artist, most prominently working as Högsbo Aviation.
