Comments on This Draft (Version 0.2 ) and Current Status of the Project

This version of the Project Plan (Version 0.2 - January 14, 1999) is a third draft, revised following EPIC PMT and Steering Committee meetings at the United Nations in October 1998.

While the MOU, once signed by the partners, will likely not change, the MOU allows for the Project Plan to become a "living" document which can be altered with approval from the Steering Committee. The Project Plan is designed to offer a road map for the Project Management Team.

As a result of discussion with PMT and Steering Committee members, the strategy for launching the EPIC project is as follows:

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU): ????
Project Plan: While the MOU will be a more general document, the Project Plan will offer the specific details and direction for the project. It will be attached to the MOU. A document containing many more details related to the project-details which legitimately do not belong in an MOU-is necessary to give the project the guidance it requires and to ensure that all partners are in agreement as to structures and methodology.
