The first year with fins

I think 1955-56 is Chryslers best year ever in design.
55 is good and 56 is better.Off course i think there is highlights
before and after this year but 55-56 do all cars from Plymouth
to Imperial in all bodymodels looking great.
Dodge have the same three modelseries as in 54 with the
Kingsway, Coronet and Royal.
In 1955 Dodge get a all new design and 56 dosent change
wery much but this is the first year with real fins.
In the comersals it was the push button tranmision that was
the real news this year.They called it a safety detail becouse
the push buttoms is on the left side of the steeringweel so the
kids not could change gear in misstake.
This was allso the first year Dodge offered a special
policepackage.Dodge was first and then Plymouth and
Chrysler to offered a policepackage.

bbbbbbbThe Hemi
To get a hemi this year you had to order the D500 package
that was more and less simular with the policepackage.
The Hemis this year were 315 CU.in and delivered 260 hp
with a singel 4-barrel carburator and 295 with dual carbs.
Our car had the 260 hp engine.
Both Coronet and Royal series could be equipped with
D500 package.
