Mathematics solution:

  8   1   6
  3   5   7
  4   9   2

Build up help squares  3 times 3 up and to right.
Start always with 1 in the middle upper square.
Go diagonally up to right, that means the first lower right square.
In that square put in 2. From 2 in the base square down go digonally up to right and put in 3 in the middle square in the left column. Continue diagonally up to right from the base square 3 and you are in 1 who is occupeid. Go down    from 3 one step in the base square and put in 4. Go diagonally up to right and put in 5. Continue and put in 6. Go diagonally up to right where you find that this square is occupeid of 4. Go down from 6 and put in 7. Go diagonally and put in 8 in the upper square in the base square to left and finally put in 9.
You can use this strategy in all bigger aneven square.
